Change Team:

CFC Alliance is the newest branch in the CFC family.  Our coaches are dedicated to helping to improve the quality of soccer in Northeast Connecticut.  Training sessions and home games will be held in Vernon, Bolton, Coventry, Willington, and Manchester during the fall and spring.  During the winter, CFC Alliance will train and play indoor league games at Star Hill Family Athletic Center in Tolland.

U12 to U14 Program

The focus of this group continues to be technical training.  As the players grow bigger and stronger, more emphasis will be put into developing technical skills such as shooting, crossing, and long passes.  A portion of training each day will also be dedicated to ball mastery skills and 1 v 1 attacking dribbling moves.

As they transition from a small-sided field to a full-sided field, players will learn different systems of play and styles of play.  The will have a greater understanding of possession, support, movement away from the ball, combination play, switching the point of the attack, attacking in large groups, overbalancing good defensive teams, off-sides traps, lines of defensive confrontation, and communicating on the field.

This age group will also begin physical training.  Players will be required to do pushups, sit-ups, plank positions, burpies, long-distance runs, sprints, interval training, step-ups, and yoga.

Training

  • Teams will practice 2x per week during the fall, winter, and spring.
  • During the winter, teams will train at Star Hill Family Athletic Center in Tolland.
  • During the fall and spring, teams will train and play games at fields located in Vernon, Bolton, Coventry, Willington, and Manchester.
  • Players are expected to attend all training sessions and games.  It is okay to play other sports as long as your other team and coach understand that the player’s priority is CFC Alliance.  It is okay to miss on occasional CFC Alliance practice, but it will affect playing time.  Habitual offenders will be put on probation and will be asked to leave the club eventually.
  • Players will be expected to juggle their soccer balls at home and to practice ball mastery skills in their backyards
